She reportedly told them she was under the influence of heroin and fentanyl, according to the jail records. It was the third time in less than a year Ainsley A. Wilson, 27. Read the full story:
Does anyone else see a problem with this?
This is her third time? How did it get past the first? What if she killed someone? This girl all three times tells on herself to the officer that she has ingested drugs. Okay, so let’s keep arresting her, putting her on probation and then revoking her probation because she is noncompliant. Well of course she is, she is controlled by drugs. I have a great idea! It’s a crazy idea and completely nuts, but maybe we should try and get her into an inpatient rehab program? I wish I could put little emoji after some of my sentences right now. They would have dunce hats and da faces on them, and lightbulbs.
I know we are having a problem with beds, but we are also having a problem with overcrowding of jails. Let’s take a look at both and let’s evaluate MONEY as well.
Let’s start with money. The evil subject. Has anyone ever seen the movie “Dave” it stars Kevin Kline and Sigourney Weaver? It’s a great movie. Kevin Kline becomes a stand-in for the president because he is an uncanny look alike. while in office he has to cut the budget by millions to save a homeless shelter. He sits down with an accountant and does just that. It is really funny to hear some of the things they were spending money on that saved the country hundreds of thousands of dollars. Perhaps if we took all the heads of importance that are needed to get rehabs, jails, and mental health hospitals to have more beds, programs for drug and alcohol and drug programs, then maybe just maybe we can begin to combat a small portion of our problem. Am I being unrealistic?
In my opinion, they should put her in a rehab program for at least 90 days if not longer. Then a sober living house after that. Give people a fighting chance. I know first hand that there are people that can’t break the cycle because in their heads they don’t think they can or they really just think it’s too hard. Sure it’s hard work. I should know. I struggle every single day. I didn’t grow up with someone telling me to go to school and that I could be someone or something great. I grew up on the “wrong side” of the tracks whatever that means. I knew I wanted more than what I grew up with and I wanted more for my children. I encouraged my children. Now, I don’t believe in telling my children they can be whatever they want to be, (don’t hate me) because they may want to be a movie star, but they don’t do what they need to do that or it’s not really their calling and they go through disappointment which could lead to drug use. There is a way of encouraging without being a daydreamer and never accomplishing anything.
If your child does want to be in the movies, great! Get them into acting school, but also make them aware of how hard they will have to work and that there will be many letdowns, but if they reach for the stars and never give up. Then they can be anything they want to be. No one says, “mommy I want to be a drug addict when I grow up.”
